On February 9, a cold-chain truck fully loaded with vegetables departed from the Junshan Vegetable Science and Technology Park in Yueyang, heading towards Alma-Ata, the largest city in Kazakhstan.

These vegetables, including 22 tonnes of geographical indication products Guangxingzhou Chinese cabbage and Pingbao cabbage, were expected to arrive in Alma-Ata in four days.

At the launch ceremony, a local state-owned farm group and a Russian merchant reached a Framework Agreement for Exporting Junshan Vegetables to Central Asian Markets, marking the official entry of Junshan vegetables into the Central Asian market.

Yueyang's Junshan District, as an important vegetable production base in China and a core "vegetable basket" of Hunan Province, is home to 180,000 mu (12,006 hectares) of vegetable plantations.

Guangxingzhou Chinese cabbage grows on the Dongting Lake alluvial flats and is famous for its delicate, fresh and sweet flavor. Pingbao cabbage features compact structure, and crisp, tender, and juicy taste, and is durable for storage and transportation. These combined attributes make it a flagship product among Junshan vegetables for market expansion.

This local state-owned farm group owns the Junshan Vegetable Science and Technology Park which is certified as a vegetable supply base for Hong Kong and Macao by the General Administration of Customs of China. Each batch of the vegetables grown here holds a specific "ID," ensuring quality traceability from the source.
