Changsha Customs statistics showed that, in 2025, Hunan's exports of construction machinery reached 34.68 billion CNY, marking a year-on-year increase of 9.6%.
The exports to West Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa soared in the year, reaching 8.92 billion CNY, 5.93 billion CNY, and 4.23 billion CNY and increasing by 23.7%, 25.9%, and 75.9%, respectively. Those for Russia and the European Union (27 countries excluding the UK) stood at 2.73 billion CNY and 2.45 billion CNY. The major exported products included special-purpose motor vehicles, earthmovers, and cranes. Among them, the exports of earthmovers, excavators, and road rollers amounted to 8.19 billion CNY, surging about 30%.
"The independent customs operation of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) brings new opportunities for Hunan's construction machinery export," said a spokesperson for the Changsha Customs Authority. Utilizing the "zero-tariffs" policy, Hunan may set up an international procurement center and a global maintenance and after-sales service center in Hainan. With these centers, the second-hand equipment from overseas can be transported to the Hunan-Hainan Co-constructed Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park for maintenance, remanufacturing, and reexporting. Global after-sales service can be achieved by this concentrated maintenance and management mode, which can reduce the costs of spare parts storage and maintenance. It is estimated that the tariff and freight charge per unit of equipment can be saved by over 30,000 CNY.
