On the afternoon of February 1, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Jia Hao, chairman of the Supervisory Board of SEG Automotive; Ferdinando Sorrentino, CEO of SEG Automotive; and their accompanying delegation.
Yu Hongsheng, vice governor of Hunan Province, and Qu Hai, secretary general of the provincial government, also participated.

SEG Automotive is a long-established and globally leading automotive parts supplier specializing in the R&D and production of starters, alternators, and electric drive systems, with its headquarters located in Stuttgart, Germany. SEG Automotive has established its China headquarters and R&D center in Changsha. This facility functions as the largest platform R&D center outside its German headquarters, with annual revenue consistently reaching approximately three billion CNY.

Mao Weiming welcomed the guests and briefed them on Hunan's automotive industry development. He stated that, in recent years, Hunan has focused on the blueprint outlined in the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, accelerating high-end, green, and intelligent transformation and upgrading of its automotive sector. The industrial cluster has continued to expand, supply chain integration has steadily improved, and intelligent connected vehicle sector seen accelerated development. Last year, the province produced 1.626 million vehicles, including over 1.1 million new energy vehicles—ranking ninth nationally. Hunan has established a comprehensive industrial chain encompassing finished new energy vehicles, electric motors and controllers, power batteries, and battery materials. Mao expressed his hope that SEG Automotive will continue to invest in and deepen its commitment to Hunan, deploying more high-end manufacturing and R&D innovation projects within the province. He stated that Hunan looks forward to the company strengthening collaboration with upstream and downstream enterprises to jointly enhance the resilience and security of the industrial and supply chains. The provincial government, he added, remains committed to fostering a market-oriented, law-based and world-class business environment, ensuring that enterprises feel more confident in investing, more secure in starting businesses, and more satisfied with their growth in Hunan.
Jia Hao and Ferdinando Sorrentino noted that SEG Automotive will continue to regard Hunan as a key region with strategic significance, driving deeper collaboration in automotive electronics and embodied intelligence, to jointly build a brighter future with Hunan.
