A New Year Goods Carnival opened at the Ming and Qing-era Ancient Lane Scenic Spot in Yiyang City on January 23.

A tourist from Zambia was delighted to find products from home, exclaiming, "Can't believe that I can buy red wine and skincare products from my hometown right here!"

Highlighting African products, this event was arranged in a "1+1+N" form—an African product-themed flash mob shop, a Yiyang specialty goods fair, and 50 special outdoor booths across the tourist hotspots.

More than 120 kinds of popular products from Africa are being displayed at the flash mob shop, encompassing snacks, tea drink, coffee, daily use articles, and handicrafts, such as red wine from South Africa, fish glue from Tanzania, coffee beans from Ethiopia, and shea hand cream from Mali.

"This event aims to introduce African specialty products into domestic New Year goods market, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the economic and trade exchange between China and Africa," a spokesperson of the organizer said. It is expected to provide an access for people to purchase high-qualityAfrican products near their homes.

A hustle-and-bustle scene was also seen at the Yiyang-flavor New Year Goods Fair. A number of Yiyang's specialty products, such as Anhua dark tea, Yangluo noodles, Taojiang bamboo shoots, and Datong Lake cherry tomatoes, were popular with visitors.

Besides, various cultural experience and fun activities are being held on the site. Visitors may film and share short videos to get gifts.
The event will last until January 27.
