A press conference on Hunan's foreign trade in 2025 was held on January 21. According to the conference, Hunan's exports reached 320.76 billion CNY. With the parallel advancement of new and traditional growth drivers, the export structure is undergoing steady optimization.

As for traditional industries, exports of construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and lighters were respectively 34.68 billion CNY, 730 million CNY, and 2.46 billion CNY, showing a year-on-year increase of 9.6%, 65.6% and 21%. The indigenous brands achieved an export value of 122.43 billion CNY, growing 5% and accounting for nearly 40% of the total exports. Hunan is transforming its export orientation from "Hunan products going global" to "Hunan brands going global."

In relation to emerging industries, exports of high-tech products closely related to the new quality productive forces hit 39.92 billion CNY, rising 28.4% over the previous year. Among them, the export value of high-end equipment reached 18.12 billion CNY, up 23.2%; that of industrial robots stood at 99.72 million CNY, growing 82.1%; exports of the "new three" products—EVs, lithium batteries and solar cells, and electric locomotives increased by 88% and 102.2% to 19.69 billion CNY and 430 million CNY respectively. "Hunan made" is advancing to "Hunan creation."

It is worth mentioning that the number of shield tunneling machines exported from Hunan Province in 2025 was equivalent to the total in the previous two years, with each unit valued at over 50 million CNY. These advanced equipment for the country has provided "Hunan solutions" to large-scale projects and infrastructure construction around the world.
