At the turn of the new year, Chenzhou has seen booming exports of high-quality and specialty agricultural products. For example, a container loaded with 5,000 servings of Qifengdu fish rice noodles were delivered to Uzbekistan for the first time, and a batch of Yizhang navel oranges was exported to Malaysia for the first time, supported by advanced preservation technology.
The "Chenzhou products and Chenzhou flavor" regional public brand has moved into top 20 of the national ranking, with a growing reputation and robust momentum among local enterprises to explore international markets.
Leveraging its selenium-rich soil and favorable natural environment, Chenzhou has developed several industrial clusters with their output value reaching 10 billion CNY, including vegetables, tangerines, tea, and pork. As a result, the agricultural product processing industry has thrived. In 2025, 74 municipal-level leading enterprises were newly recognized. There are 251 vegetable supply bases for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area across Chenzhou City, topping the prefecture-level cities nationwide.
In recent years, Chenzhou has made all-out efforts to develop its "Chenzhou products and Chenzhou flavor" regional public brand, fostering a number of specialty agricultural products including Linwu duck, Dongjiang fish, Qifengdu fish rice noodles, Yongxing sweet oranges, and high-elevation vegetables from Guidong. This initiative has driven premium pricing of agricultural products, becoming a significant engine for enhancing agricultural efficiency and raising farmers' income.
Rucheng has maintained over 50,000 mu (about 3,335 hectares) of young ginger plantations for years, contributing more than 40% of the national supply. In November 2025, 30 tonnes of Rucheng young ginger were shipped directly to Jebel Ali Port in Dubai through cold-chain preservation after completing customs clearance at the Shenzhen Port. Rucheng young ginger has captivated customers in the Middle East, with its tender texture and rich gingerol, said the spokesperson for a local import-export trading company.
During the 2025 Culinary Culture Tasting Event—A Taste of Hunan in the Middle East, "Dou lajiao (pounded peppers)"—a special dish in Anren County—captured the taste buds of Dubai visitors. At the 26th Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo (CCHAE) in November 2025, twenty-two agricultural products under the "Chenzhou products and Chenzhou flavor" brand won gold awards, including Yongxing sweet oranges, Shengping rice, and highly processed products such as tea-oil fermented bean curd and Baimu yogurt.
