Hu Xusheng, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, met in Changsha with a delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 23, 2025. The delegation was led by Kongkeo MYVORLACHACK, chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for Savannakhet Province.

Deputy Director Hu welcomed the guests. He noted that China and Laos are geographically close and culturally connected, with close emotional ties. Both sides are friendly socialist neighbors and unbreakable community with a shared future. In recent years, Hunan Province and Savannakhet Province have established strong friendship and close cooperation. The deputy director expressed his hope that both sides would advance a pragmatic economic and trade partnership, expand exchanges between friendship cities, strengthen collaboration in the cultural and tourism sectors, and deepen friendly exchanges between legislative bodies. Both sides are expected to jointly create a vibrant landscape of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Laos, he added.

Chairperson Kongkeo MYVORLACHACK spoke highly of Hunan's achievements in economic and social development. He expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen bilateral cooperation to jointly boost the building of a Laos-China community with a shared future.

The Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for Savannakhet Province signed a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation after the meeting.
