The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the ninth batch of manufacturing single champion enterprises, with 22 Hunan enterprises on the list. Hunan Province has cultivated a total of 94 national manufacturing champions, ranking sixth nationwide and first in central China.

National single champion enterprises in the manufacturing industry are those enterprises that have specialized in specific product segments, boasting leading production technology and a high global market share.

The 22 Hunan enterprises selected in this batch are primarily concentrated in Hunan's leading industries such as equipment manufacturing, rail transit, electronics and information technology, and biomedicine, each demonstrating significant technological and market advantages in their respective fields. For instance, the Sinocare Biosensor Co., Ltd. has become the world's fourth-largest blood glucose meter manufacturer, with its core products holding over 50% of the domestic market share. The Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s "air springs" serve as critical vibration-damping components for high-speed rail and other rail transit vehicles. These products, backed by fully independent intellectual property rights, command the top global market share.

The Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster is the primary hub for single champion enterprises, with 18 companies from the area making the list—accounting for over 80% of the total. Among these, ten are based in Changsha, five in Zhuzhou, and three in Xiangtan. Companies from Hengyang, Loudi, Shaoyang, and Chenzhou were also included.

In recent years, Hunan has highlighted establishing a tiered cultivation system for high-quality enterprises, encouraging them to concentrate on innovation and specialize in their core competencies. Among the newly-recognized enterprises in this batch, 17 were upgraded from provincial-level single champion enterprises. The tiered cultivation system achieved a conversion success rate exceeding 70%, continuing to yield fruitful results.
