The Happy Cities Forum 2025, hosted by the Oriental Outlook magazine, was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on December 9. At the forum, the results of the 2025 Happiest Cities Survey and Selection were announced. Changsha was once again recognized as a "Happiest City," marking the 18th consecutive year it has received this honor. Changsha County, Liuyang City, and Ningxiang City were named "2025 Happiest County-level Cities."
The survey-and-selection event has been held for 19 consecutive years, recognizing over 100 happy cities (districts) in total. It has become one of the most influential city-themed events to date. This year's survey and selection focused on the theme "Practicing the Concept of People-centered City, Creating a Beautiful and Happy Life," closely aligning with the goal of building modern people-centered cities as outlined in the Central Urban Work Conference and the Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. The event highlighted vibrant practices in happy city construction across the country and showcased the abundant achievements of high-quality urban development in the new era.
On behalf of Changsha, Changsha Vice Mayor Qian Lixia delivered a keynote speech at the forum. She said, "Changsha is a happy city where the spark of intelligent manufacturing shines brightly, the flame of youthful passion burns fiercely, the torch of cultural heritage is passed on, and the warmth of everyday life rises steadily. It is a city worthy of investing your career and planting roots for your life." She sincerely invited everyone to come to Changsha, create their future, and realize their dreams.
