According to the Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the seventh batch of specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises. A total of 77 companies from Hunan Province made the list, ranking tenth nationwide in new entries. To date, Hunan has cultivated a total of 593 such enterprises, ranking ninth nationwide in cumulative numbers.

Specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises refer to high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that operate in core industrial sectors and critical links of industrial chains. These firms boast outstanding innovation capabilities, cutting-edge technologies, a high market share in a niche market, and excellent quality and efficiency.

The selected enterprises cover multiple strategic emerging industries and future sectors, including semiconductors, new materials, intelligent sensing, biomedicine, high-end equipment, and aerospace, demonstrating the optimization and upgrading of Hunan's industrial structure.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also released the 2025 list of specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises that passed the review. A total of 150 "little giant" firms in Hunan Province passed the assessment.

The steady growth of national-level "little giant" enterprises relies on a robust provincial enterprise cultivation pool. So far, Hunan Province has recognized over 6,300 provincial-level specialized and innovative SMEs. A tiered growth pathway from "provincial cultivation" to "national accreditation" has thus been established. This provides a reserve of enterprises to enhance the overall competitiveness of industrial chains.
