Changsha Included in China's Most Competitive Convention and Exhibition Cities for 13 Consecutive Years

The China Convention, Exhibition and Event Society released the 2024 report on Chinese cities' convention and exhibition industry competitiveness index and related rankings in Chengdu on November 28. Changsha was awarded the title of "China's most competitive convention and exhibition city in 2024," retaining its top position in central China and earning this title for the 13th consecutive year.

In recent years, under the strong leadership of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People's Government, Changsha has focused on the goal of "building a famous international convention and exhibition city." By leveraging its unique resources, industrial foundation, and consumer characteristics, the city has systematically implemented policies and coordinated efforts to enhance the convention and exhibition industry's ability to attract resources, drive industrial growth, and enhance international influence.

According to the Changsha Convention and Exhibition Office, the city hosted a total of 217 exhibitions and 19,883 conferences and forums in the first ten months of this year. The total revenue generated by the convention and exhibition industry reached 42.675 billion CNY, including a direct income of 5.847 billion CNY and an induced income of 36.828 billion CNY. The added value of the industry amounted to 19.204 billion CNY, driving 39.513 billion CNY in wholesale, retail, accommodation, and catering sectors.

Major international and national events took place in Changsha successively, including the China International Construction Equipment Exhibition, the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, the Internet Yuelu Summit, the World Computing Conference, the China New Media Conference, the Hunan International General Aviation and Low Altitude Economy Industry Expo, and the International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage Along the Silk Roads. These diverse and vibrant events have built bridges for exchanges between Changsha and the rest of the world. Through these platforms, Changsha has fully showcased its unique urban charm and profound cultural heritage, deepening cooperation with domestic and foreign cities and laying a solid foundation for its ongoing internationalization.
