Deputy Secretary Xie welcomed the guests on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government. He remarked that Ambassador Alberto Blanco Silva is an old friend of the people of Hunan and has made significant contributions to fostering close cooperation between Cuba and the province. Hunan serves as a vital production base for grain, pork, and other agricultural products in China, and is currently accelerating agricultural and rural modernization while advancing all-around rural revitalization.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba. Hunan will actively implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state to promote the early implementation of bilateral agricultural collaboration projects. The province will continue to strengthen inter-party exchanges and further explore partnership in theoretical research, primary-level Party organizations building, and administrative capacity building for cadres.

Xie expressed the hope that both sides will deepen the special friendly relations between China and Cuba in the new era and contribute to accelerating the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future.

Cuban Ambassador Alberto Blanco Silva expressed his gratitude for Hunan's assistance in Cuba's agricultural development. He expressed the hope that both sides will further strengthen communication and cooperation in such areas as inter-party cooperation, agriculture, renewable energy, information technology and cybersecurity, friendship-city exchanges, and cultural tourism. Cuba will offer preferential policies and favorable conditions to welcome Hunan enterprises to invest and thrive in Cuba, thereby advancing bilateral cooperation to higher levels and in broader fields.

Also present was Qiu Xiaoqi, special representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs.
