On October 24, Huaihua Customs officers conducted a remote video inspection of 13.6 tonnes of exported kiwifruit via the "Single Window for International Trade" platform at an agricultural development company in Mayang Miao Autonomous County. The inspection mainly focused on quality, quantity, packaging, labeling, and other items of the kiwifruit. This was the first case handled by the Huaihua Customs Authority since its implementation of the "negative list" reform for remote inspection of the General Administration of Customs.

After passing the customs inspection and quarantine procedures, the kiwifruit was delivered to Malaysia. Hence Mayang kiwifruit has successfully entered new international markets, marking a milestone of the "Huaihua products go global" and "Increase fruit farmers' income" initiatives.

Mayang is an ideal place for kiwifruit planting, with its favorable climate and plentiful water resources. Mayang kiwifruit is known for its standard shape, refreshing sweet taste, and rich nutrition. In 2025, the kiwifruit planting area around the county reached 20,000 mu (1,334 hectares), producing 22,500 tonnes of kiwifruit with an output value of 352 million CNY, a 1.7% increase year on year.

In recent years, high-standard and large-scale production management methods as well as advanced techniques such as biological pest control and organic fertilization have been applied, which have significantly enhanced the quality of Mayang kiwifruit.

The customs authority provides the export enterprises with policy instructions and technical guidance catering to the technical trade measures in the target markets, such as plant quarantine requirements and labeling regulations. These assistances have helped the enterprises tackle technical challenges and technical barriers during the export process.

To secure efficient and convenient clearance for fruit export, the Huaihua Customs Authority set up a "green channel" for agricultural exports, and rolled out a series of streamlined measures. These initiatives have optimized the supervision procedures, improved customs clearance efficiency, and shortened the inspection and quarantine time and the duration of cargo stays in the ports, so that the freshness of kiwifruit is preserved and logistics costs for enterprises reduced.
