On October 21, the Spanish tourism bureau Turespaña held a tourism strategy promotion event in Changsha. Over 40 industry representatives from travel agencies and tour operators across Hunan Province gathered to discuss new trends in China's outbound tourism market and gain deeper insights into Spain's core strategies for attracting Chinese visitors.

Teresa Siles, tourism counsellor of the Consulate General of Spain in Guangzhou, gives an introduction.
Centered on the theme of "Sustainability, Diversity, and Immersive Experiences," the promotion event marked a significant step in Spain's efforts to strengthen cooperation with southern China. Teresa Siles, tourism counsellor of the Consulate General of Spain in Guangzhou, introduced that Spain is committed to developing a diversified, de-seasonalized, and highly digitalized tourism model. This strategic framework highly aligns with emerging trends in China's outbound tourism market. She expressed hope to build stronger connections with Changsha's tourism sector, jointly promoting bilateral exchanges.
According to statistics, Spain received 649,412 Chinese tourist visits in 2024. Recording a total tourist spending of 1.828 billion EUR and a per-capita average of over 2,900 EUR in Spain, China ranked among the top tourist source markets globally.
