On October 11, a letter of thanks from Dornod Province in Mongolia was delivered to the office of the Huaihua Volunteer Association, marking a heartwarming chapter in China-Mongolia non-governmental ecological cooperation.

Travelling thousands of miles, the letter noted that the 200 fir saplings donated jointly by Huaihua's public welfare organization and local school have successfully taken root at the Songbeir Port in Mongolia. With a survival rate exceeding 95%, the saplings are now thriving.

These saplings, carrying the seeds of friendship, were collected during a tree-planting initiative that was launched ahead of the 2025 World Environment Day. Led by the Halaha River Ecological Fund and jointly launched by the Huaihua Volunteer Association, the Huaihua Tongxin Public Welfare Service Center, and the Huaihua Yali Experimental School, this initiative aimed to leverage non-governmental public welfare efforts to advance ecological conservation cooperation between China and Mongolia, deepening bilateral friendly exchanges.

Over the course of this initiative, students from the Huaihua Yali Experimental School have participated fully—from preparing saplings to coordinating donations—transforming their aspirations for a greener future into tangible action. This initiative not only served as a cross-border ecological conservation practice, but also evolved into a vivid lesson in ecological education. Through active engagement, students have grasped the profound meaning of the "community with a shared future for mankind," contributing their youthful energy to strengthening China-Mongolia friendship.

The Halaha River basin, where mountains and rivers intertwine, bears witness to the deep friendship between China and Mongolia. Today, 200 fir trees thrive on this land, forming a green barrier along the border while serving as a living symbol of non-governmental friendship between the two nations. This letter of thanks conveyed sincere gratitude to all parties in Huaihua, further affirming that ecological cooperation serves as a common language transcending national borders.

This initiative demonstrated that small actions can yield significant results. By leveraging the "little strengths" of these 200 saplings, the event has unlocked the "great significance" of China-Mongolia international ecological cooperation. These efforts have delivered a heartwarming testament to our commitment to putting into practice the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind in the ecological field.
