Recently, 160 tonnes of fresh citrus fruits from Shimen County, Changde, passed inspection by the Changde Customs Authority and were shipped to Belarus in refrigerated containers. This marks the first export of Hunan's citrus to Belarus.

At the intelligent sorting workshop of Hunan Xiangjia Juyou Agriculture Co., Ltd. in Shimen County, separation equipment operated at high speed, intelligently classifying fresh citrus fruits based on diameter, weight, color, and sugar content. "During an exhibition in Hong Kong in September, Belarusian clients were very impressed after tasting our fresh citrus. They then placed an order immediately," said Chen Lingjiao, a representative from the company. Chen explained that through technical improvements, this year's citrus fruits boast uniform shape, vibrant color, and balanced sweetness and acidity. It is anticipated that the company will export 10,000 tonnes of fresh citrus this year.

This year Shimen County started export of early-ripe tangerines from September 4. To date, 3,114.3 tonnes have been shipped. The harvest season is projected to export over 40,000 tonnes. Statistics show that Hunan's citrus fruits have been exported to Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada, as well as Southeast Asian countries.
