Liling is the birthplace of the world's underglaze five-colored porcelain, the production site of China's "national porcelain" and "Hongguanyao," and the birthplace of Li Tian, the inventor of fireworks. It holds the titles of the Chinese Ceramic Historical and Cultural City, the Porcelain Capital of China, and the Fireworks Capital of China.
Liling now has established a comprehensive ceramic industrial cluster spanning R&D and design to production and sales, integrating cultural creativity with tourism. The product portfolio encompasses over 4,000 varieties across three major categories—industrial ceramics, household porcelain, and artistic ceramics. The household porcelain has been exported to more than 150 countries and regions, while electric ceramics reached over 40 countries and regions, both topping China in terms of export volume.
Themed "Multi-colored Liling, Millennium-old Porcelain Capital," the expo covers an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters with 1,350 standard booths. The exhibition area is divided into a comprehensive ceramics hall, a premium ceramics hall, a Liling porcelain hall, an international ceramics hall, and an electric porcelain and equipment machinery hall. The exhibition presents representative ceramic products from enterprises in China's major ceramic production regions, premium local porcelain from Liling, offerings from international exhibitors, and award-winning pieces from the national ceramic innovation competitions. The exhibits include household porcelain, artistic ceramics, electric porcelain and appliances, special ceramics, ceramic wine bottles, and ceramic manufacturing equipment.

Twenty-four activities across three categories—industry, culture and tourism, and consumption—are being held during the expo. There are such colorful events as a national ceramic innovation competition, a Hunan (Liling) electric porcelain industry forum on "innovation and globalization," an international academic symposium on the 120th anniversary of modern ceramic education in China, a citywide "porcelain hunting" carnival, and a capsule toy game. These activities aim to comprehensively enhance the engagement and experience of both exhibitors and visitors. Focusing on supply-demand matching, the expo invites executives from renowned international and domestic retailers to participate in an Liling high-quality porcelain products matchmaking summit, establishing an efficient and pragmatic platform for global buyers, distributors, and premium ceramic enterprises.
French ceramic artist Aima Saint Hunon made her debut at the expo and was deeply impressed by the vibrant energy of local ceramic art. She believed that the expo also serves as a bridge that fosters cultural exchange between East and West. "Our cultures are indeed different, but it is precisely this difference that makes the exchange so valuable and capable of sparking unexpected creative inspiration," she said.
The expo is jointly hosted by the China Ceramic Industrial Association, China Grocery Products for Daily Use Marketing Society, as well as Hunan's provincial departments for commerce, industry and information technology, and culture and tourism, and the Zhuzhou Municipal People's Government. The expo will last till October 3.
