Hunan Museum Announces to Temporarily Close Certain Exhibition Halls

Hunan Museum has recently announced the temporary closure of certain exhibition halls. Two permanent exhibitions,"Changsha Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tombs Exhibition" and "Hunanese: Exhibition of Hunan's History and Culture," will be temporarily unavailable to the public. In addition, the museum will implement a reduction in its daily visitor capacity.

According to the announcement, Hunan Museum is advancing a cultural relic protection equipment upgrade project, aiming to comprehensively enhance conservation facilities and environmental conditions, and effectively improve the quality of cultural relic preservation, exhibition effectiveness, and public service capabilities.

From September 23 to December 31 this year, the exhibition hall for the "Changsha Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tombs Exhibition" will adopt a phased opening approach. Construction areas will be cordoned off and closed to the public, while non-construction areas will remain open as usual.

From October 9 to December 31 this year, the exhibition hall for the "Hunanese: Exhibition of Hunan's History and Culture" will be closed for renovation and will be temporarily unavailable to the public during this period.

Additionally, from October 9 to December 31 this year, the daily limit for individual online reservations will be adjusted from 12,000 to 9,000 people.

The latest updates on opening hours will be promptly released via the Hunan Museum's official website, official Weibo account (Hunan Museum), and official WeChat account (Hunan Museum).
