The Internet Yuelu Summit 2025 opened in Changsha on September 15. On September 15, the Internet Yuelu Summit 2025 kicks off in Changsha.
Secretary Shen extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government. He noted that artificial intelligence (AI) is ushering in a new wave of development, thanks to the rapid progress of the internet and breakthroughs in next-generation information technology. Hunan possesses robust scientific and technological innovation capabilities, talent strength, established infrastructure support, diverse application scenarios, and a vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The province is confident in seizing the opportunities presented by AI advancement.

Secretary Shen emphasized that "AI Plus" serves as a vital driving force for Hunan's sustained efforts to build itself into a national hub for important and advanced manufacturing industries, a sci-tech and innovation center with core competitiveness, and a pacesetter for reform and the opening-up of China's inland regions; cultivate and develop new quality productive forces; and, achieve high-quality development. Hunan will adopt an application-oriented approach to identify key areas for focused advancement, applying "AI Plus" on scientific and technological innovation, industrial development, consumption enhancement, public welfare, and governance capabilities. The province will accelerate the implementation of the "AI Plus" initiative and foster collaboration with all stakeholders to jointly build Hunan into a new "AI Plus" hub.

Themed "AI Navigation to Envision the Xiangjiang New Area," this year's session focused on such topics as AI, global R&D center city development, and innovation and entrepreneurship among university students. The summit featured an opening ceremony, the Yuelu Forum, and over ten specialized sub-forums. Academicians, experts, renowned entrepreneurs, and representatives of young entrepreneurs were invited to discuss the future of AI development. An annual report on Changsha's global R&D center city development, an annual report on innovation and entrepreneurship of Hunan's college students, and a series of AI industry models were also released at the opening ceremony.
Wang Yaonan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE); Fang Rong, chairperson of ZTE Corporation; Li Zexiang, professor of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; and, Li Haitao, dean of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, made keynote speeches. Entrepreneurs such as Xu Zhijun, rotating chairperson of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Liu Qingfeng, chairperson of iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., Ye Guobiao, chairperson of Shanghai Securities News, and Xiong Xiaoge, chairman and founding partner of IDG Capital, attended.
Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, gave a speech. Provincial leaders Cao Zhiqiang and Wang Junshou; Yi Hong, secretary of the CPC Central South University Committee; CAE academicians Liu Zhonghua, Li Keqiang, and Bai Lianyang; Huang Jianlong, academician of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering; and, relevant responsible comrades from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology were also present.
