The Internet Yuelu Summit 2025 opens in Changsha on September 15. On the afternoon of September 14, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with representatives of guests attending the summit, including Academician Li Keqiang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, aiming to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important statement on Digital China and promote artificial intelligence (AI) to better empower high-quality development.
Provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Liu Hongbing, Cao Zhiqiang, and Wang Junshou attended. Qu Hai, secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, was also present.
Governor Mao Weiming welcomed the guests, and introduced that Hunan Province has been focusing on the blueprint outlined in the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy in recent years. Over the past decade, the province's economic aggregate has achieved "three consecutive leaps" at the one-trillion-yuan level, reaching 5.3 trillion yuan last year. Construction of the "4×4" modern industrial system is accelerating, while the "4+4 Sci-tech Innovation Projects" are being effectively implemented. Six one-trillion-yuan industries, 17 one-hundred-billion-yuan industries, and five national advanced manufacturing clusters are gathering momentum, delivering good results in driving Hunan's high-quality development and drawing up a roadmap for cultivating and strengthening new quality productive forces.
Governor Mao also issued a call to action, inviting everyone to join in efforts to build a brighter future for Hunan. He said that in recent years, Hunan has arranged in advance four future industries led by AI and has gathered strong momentum for AI development through policy measures, leading enterprises, typical cases, and future scenario planning. Last year, the revenue of the province's AI industry increased by 22% year on year to 72 billion CNY, with the number of core enterprises in the industry exceeding 300. Notably, Changsha was recognized as one of the national AI innovative application pilot zones. He sincerely invited everyone to leverage the Internet Yuelu Summit as a platform to further increase investment and project layout in Hunan and strengthen cooperation in areas such as commercialization of technology achievements, breakthroughs in key core technologies, and high-level talent exchange. He encouraged everyone to actively promote and recommend Hunan and work together with the province to shape the future landscape of AI innovation. Hunan will continue to optimize its first-class business environment, allowing all types of business entities to fully release their innovative vitality and development potential.
Academician Li Keqiang and other participating guests stated that after more than ten years of iterative upgrades, the Internet Yuelu Summit has grown significantly in scale and popularity, establishing itself as an industry event leading the innovative development of the Internet field. They will actively align with Hunan's needs, deepen cooperation in industry, academia, research, and application, and promote more funds, resources, talents, technologies, platforms, and projects to gather in Hunan, helping Hunan cultivate and strengthen new quality productive forces at a faster pace.
