World's Longest Alpine Cableway Makes Maiden Trip in Hunan

A grand ceremony to unveil the nameplate of China's longest alpine cableway was held at the Shejiang Station Hall of the Xuefeng Mountain Cableway on September 12. This cableway, hailed as the world's longest alpine cableway and China's longest cableway, made its maiden trip on that day. It features a total length of 7,600 meters and a vertical height difference of 1,158.5 meters. The cableway departs from the Xupu South High-Speed Railway Station at an altitude of 280 meters, and arrives 23 minutes later at the Xuefeng Mountain Greater Huayao Scenic Area, which is located 1,450 meters above sea level. Riding this "train in the clouds," passengers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Xuefeng Mountain range, including terraced fields, seas of clouds, forests, and canyons.
