Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie, FIAP Sign Letter of Intent on Collaboration

The 9th FIAP Photo Meeting was concluded in Wulingyuan District in Zhangjiajie City on August 30, 2025. The meeting was co-hosted by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the China Artistic Photography Society, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. At the closing and awards-presenting ceremony, the People's Government of Wulingyuan District and the FIAP signed a letter of intent on collaboration. The two parties will jointly promote Wulingyuan's cultural and natural resources, enhance its global recognition, and foster extensive exchange and cooperation in photographic culture through photographic art and international communication.



Key areas of cooperation include:

- The Wulingyuan District will support FIAP in setting up a "FIAP Photography Creation Base" in Wulingyuan;

- Both sides will jointly plan the "World Heritage Image Preservation Project;"

- Both sides will regularly organize photography creation activities to document Wulingyuan's natural and cultural landscapes, with outcomes used for mutual promotion and public education;

- Both sides will jointly host international photography competitions and exhibitions, and will support the establishment of the "FIAP Photo Exhibition Art Center in Wulingyuan;"

- The Wulingyuan District will provide discounted scenic area admissions and photo creation opportunities for FIAP personnel and registered photographers, supporting their participation in various photography activities;

- Both sides will jointly promote outstanding photographic works, enhancing international dissemination through their respective platforms and media;

- Both sides will leverage occasions such as the "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" to co-host public welfare photography events, raising public awareness of natural heritage conservation; and,

- Both parties will maintain regular communication, conduct annual evaluations of cooperation outcomes, formulate follow-up plans based on these assessments, and expand into other cooperative areas as needed.

The two sides agreed that this Letter of Intent shall serve as a framework for subsequent specific collaboration. The implementation of specific projects shall be subject to separate negotiations and detailed agreements. Both parties further agreed to respect and protect intellectual property rights during the cooperation, with specific copyright matters to be addressed in a supplementary agreement.

The 9th FIAP Photo Meeting opened in Changsha on August 23. Photographers from around the world participated in an expedition tour titled "Discover Hunan" in Changsha, the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and Zhangjiajie, as well as other places. Through their camera lenses, the participants captured Hunan's urban landscapes, ethnic customs, and natural scenery, presenting a magnificent painting to the international community.
