After completing customs inspection at Changde Customs on August 25, three batches of Lixian Sunshine Rose grapes weighing 41.6 tonnes were transported by cold-chain container trucks to Nansha Port. The grapes were scheduled to be shipped to Nigeria and Mauritius via the port, marking Hunan's first export of fresh grapes to Africa.

At the Lixian County production base of a Changde agricultural development company, clusters of Sunshine Rose grapes appeared even more enticing and fragrant after sorting, packaging, and labeling by workers. The grapes produced here are known for their vibrant color and sweet flavor, making them highly popular among consumers. With the peak sales season for grapes approaching, the company has seen a significant increase in foreign trade orders this year.

To facilitate the exports of these grapes to Africa, the Changde Customs Authority has added fresh fruits to the pilot list of "batch inspection" reform for exported agricultural and food products. With the exported grapes passing on-site customs inspection, other fruits within the same batch are exempt from repeated on-site checks, enabling a streamlined process of application, inspection, and customs clearance. The initiatives streamline customs clearance efficiency, effectively reduce spoilage during long-distance transportation of fresh grapes, and further unleash industrial advantages.

So far, Changde's Sunshine Rose grapes have been exported to 14 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, and Mauritius. It is expected that the export volume for this year's production season will exceed 5,000 tonnes, representing a year-on-year growth of over 30%.
