Hunan's exports of "new three" products—new energy vehicles (NEVs), lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic (PV) products—totaled 11.32 billion CNY in the first seven months of this year. The exports represented a year-on-year increase of 83.5%, marking 10 consecutive months of positive growth. Exports of the "new three" products in July were particularly impressive, surging 166.2% to 2.48 billion CNY. The exports set new record highs for both export value and growth rate since the beginning of 2024, said the Changsha Customs Authority on August 12, 2025.

During the January-July period, exports of NEVs grew 83% to 7.3 billion CNY while those of lithium-ion batteries climbed 104.6% to 3.67 billion CNY. A spokesperson of the Changsha Customs Authority noted that the Changsha BYD Automobile Co., Ltd. contributed over 50% of exports, up 95.7%. The export volume of pure electric passenger vehicles witnessed a 15.1-fold increase. The Hunan Anker Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. leveraged its charging technology expertise to launch portable energy storage and home energy storage products, with exports to the United States and Germany rising 73.7% and 71.3%, respectively.

Changsha City continued to take the lead provincewide, whose exports of the "new three" products increased 94.1% to 9.97 billion CNY, accounting for 88% of the provincial total. Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hengyang City, and Shaoyang City exported  the "new three" products worth 370 million CNY, 260 million CNY, and 170 million CNY, respectively. The figures marked growth rates of 29.8 times, 38.3%, and 11.5 times, respectively, showing strong growth momentum in exports.

Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States became the top three export destinations for Hunan Province's "new three" products. In the first seven months, Hunan exported 2.73 billion CNY, 1.61 billion CNY, and 910 million CNY of the "new three" products to Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States, up 23.9 times, 85.6%, and 56.4%, respectively. Hunan's exports of "new three" products to ASEAN, the European Union, and Africa amounted to 3.57 billion CNY, 1.52 billion CNY, and 460 million CNY, respectively, ushering in explosion of 1,210.9%, 103%, and 554.6%.
