The 2025 Hunan (International) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition International Sub-tracks entered the semifinal round on July 28. Twenty-two overseas teams participated in the online roadshow and defense, presenting their innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

This is the first time that the Hunan (International) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has offered an international sub-track, soliciting projects from overseas entrepreneurship groups and enterprises outside Hunan Province. Since its launch in May this year, 332 teams hailing from the United States, Russia, Japan, the Netherlands, and Singapore, as well as other domestic provinces and regions, have registered to participate.

The outstanding projects in the semifinal will be shortlisted for the finals, and the final winners will receive financial and policy support in various forms.

During the competition, each participant gave a 7-minute presentation and a 5-minute defense. A panel of five experts from relevant industries and investment institutions gave comprehensive evaluations based on such aspects as core technological competitiveness, comparative advantages over existing similar products, and business models. The experts also provided the participants with suggestions and guidance.

An entrepreneur from Japan expressed her strong fondness for "China-chic" cultural and creative products. She once collaborated with Chinese partners to create some "China-chic" cartoon images inspired by Chinese mahjong. She planned to create more cultural and creative products with Hunan characteristics in the future, drawing inspiration from Hunan rice noodles and Hunan's spectacular landscapes.
