A side event on the theme of "World Heritage Education Towards the Future—Global Innovative Network and Capacity Building" of the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee was recently held at Room VII of UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, according to the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITR-AP). During the event, the winners of the 2025 Global Awards for World Heritage Education Innovative Cases (2025 AWHEIC) were announced. "The Art of Life: Multimedia Exhibition of Mawangdui Han Culture," jointly created by the Hunan Museum, the China Digital Library, and Professor Eugene Wang's team from Harvard FAS CAMLAB, received the "Star of Outstanding" Award.

The organizing committee highly praised the 10 "Star of Outstanding" award-winning cases, stating that "by innovatively adopting a highly effective cross-disciplinary approach, these projects are replicable models with outstanding global exemplary significance." The 2025 AWHEIC witnessed fierce competition, with only 30 outstanding cases selected from approximately 150 submissions worldwide.

"The Art of Life: Multimedia Exhibition of Mawangdui Han Culture" draws inspiration from cultural relics unearthed at the Mawangdui Han Tombs in Hunan. Exploring the three themes of Time and Space, Yin and Yang, and Life, the exhibition dynamically interprets the cosmological concept and philosophy of life featuring "the unity of Heaven and humanity" during the Han Dynasty.

This year, the exhibition was held at Outernet London, a public exhibition space in London, known for its high-definition giant screens. It introduced the artistic legacy of the Han Dynasty—dating back more than two thousand years—to the public in London through digital imagery. Moreover, the exhibition won the iF Design Award 2025.
