According to the Hunan Provincial Postal Administration, Hunan's postal delivery volume reached the 2.57-billion-parcel mark in the first half of the year, marking a year-on-year increase of 5.44%. A total of 2.274 billion parcels were delivered, rising 7.85% over the previous year.
During the first half, Hunan's postal sector achieved business revenue of 19.158 billion CNY, growing by 3.71% year on year. The courier sector achieved business revenue of 12.841 billion CNY.
Regionally, the provincial capital Changsha continued to play a core role, with 1.374 billion parcels delivered, accounting for 60.5% of the province's total and up 9.33% over the previous year. The eastern regions of Hunan, with Changsha and Zhuzhou at their core, made significant contributions, representing 66.03% of the province's total courier delivery volume and 61.75% of its business revenue.
Non-core urban areas showed strong growth momentum. Yiyang recorded a 41.76% year-on-year surge in courier delivery volume, leading the province in growth rate. Yongzhou and Zhangjiajie also showed notable growth.
In terms of service models, cross-regional delivery dominated the market. In the first half, Hunan handled 2.1 billion cross-regional parcels, increasing by 9.41% year on year and taking up 92.34% of the total courier delivery volume. The delivery efficiency has been enhanced significantly, with nationwide next-day delivery and same-day delivery now being common.
