According to the Hunan Communications Administration, as a 5G base station started operation at Shangdong Village, Qunfeng Township, Hongjiang City, Huaihua recently, all administrative villages across the province have secured 5G base stations. This marks a milestone in Hunan's communications infrastructure development.
Communications network construction in remote rural areas has long been "tough nuts to crack" due to complex geography, dispersed populations, and difficult construction conditions. Under the unified deployment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and with high priority placed by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the province's information and communications industry has been steadily enhanced, with 5G coverage extending to rural areas. Hunan has vigorously advanced the universal telecommunications service program and the rural communication network consolidation and upgrade project, and successfully overcoming harsh natural challenges and high construction costs, and thereby ultimately achieving its construction tasks.
The full coverage of 5G base station in all administrative villages provincewide will consolidate the digital and intelligent infrastructure foundation in Hunan's rural areas. This will provide effective support for the intelligent and digital transformation in agricultural sector and rural areas, driving the integrated development of urban and rural digitization.
