Li Zhi, deputy secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and mayor of Yueyang City, led a delegation to conduct project negotiations and pay friendly visits in Brazil and the United States from July 4 to 10, 2025. The Yueyang delegation thoroughly studied and implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, comprehensively promoting Yueyang City's economic and social development advantages, opportunities, and potential. The tour aimed to further expand the scale of economic and trade exchanges, broaden the field of industrial cooperation, deepen education and people-to-people exchanges, and expand Yueyang's international "circle of friends," elevating the city's opening up to a new level.

During the visit to Brazil, the delegation thoroughly implemented the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Brazil. They attended the BRICS Business Forum 2025 and the economic and trade activities, and engaged in a series of cooperation negotiations and extensive exchanges with Brazilian local governments, economic and trade organizations, and representatives of business communities. The delegation enhanced mutually beneficial collaboration in various fields, contributing to the promotion of resource sharing and complementarity of advantages.

The Yueyang Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Federation Chambers of Foreign Trade (FCCE) of Brazil signed an agreement on friendship and cooperation at the Brazil-China (Yueyang, Hunan) economic and trade exchange and promotion meeting.

During their stay in Brazil, the delegation also held working meetings with the Culture and Tourism Department of Rio de Janeiro State, the Chinese Consulate General in Sao Paulo, and the CCPIT Representative Office in Brazil, and had a discussion with the Brazil Hunan Fellow Association (Chamber of Commerce). In addition, the delegation also met with Anjun Logistics on the airport customs supervision bonded warehouse project, learning about the intelligent logistics supervision and operation, and discussing on enterprise-customs collaboration mode.

When visiting the United States, the delegation adhered to the spirit of President Xi Jinping's significant remarks, "the foundation of China-U.S. relations lies among the people, the hope is in the people, the future lies in the youth, and the vitality lies in sub-national areas." They engaged in negotiations and exchanges with local governments, educational institutions, business associations, and enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities between Yueyang, Hunan, and the United States.

During their stay in the United States, the delegation also visited the Chinese Consulate General in Chicago, San Francisco City Hall, NVIDIA Corporation, and had working meetings with the Chinese American Federation, the Association of Chinese-American Scientists and Engineers, the Hunan Association of the Midwest USA, and other business associations, reaching a number of consensus on cooperation.
