After a 168-hour trial, the ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project, which brings electricity from northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to central China's Hunan Province, kicked off its official operation at the capability of 4-million-kilowatt on Sunday.

This power line project spans 1,616 kilometers and is scheduled to be fully completed and put into operation at the designed transmission capability of 8-million-kilowatt in September this year. (Photo by Yuan Hongyan/Xinhua)
