The Hunan Museum made an announcement on June 24, an extension of its opening hours to meet public demand during the summer holidays. From July 1 to August 31, the opening hours of the museum (closed on Mondays) will be extended to 20:30 (last entry at 20:00). The museum will add a reservation slot from 17:30 to 20:00 during the summer holiday, to accommodate additional 5,000 individual visitors daily.

The museum only accepts real-name online reservation. All visitors (including those enjoying preferential policies) can make a reservation seven days in advance (excluding the reservation day) via the museum's official WeChat account and Alipay mini-program. Once the reservation is successfully made, visitors can enter the museum by presenting their reservation records along with valid identification documents.
