Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan as Main Competition Venues for 16th National Games

On June 17, the General Office of the State Council officially approved Hunan Province as the host for China's 16th National Games in 2029. Hunan became the first province in central China to host the National Games. Xiong Ni, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the Hunan Provincial Administration of Sport, noted that Hunan will set Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan cities as the main competition venues, which will greatly promote the integrated development of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area.

The significance of Hunan Province hosting the National Games is undoubtedly comprehensive and long-term.

The National Games aim to promote widespread public participation. It will not only positively enhance the sports awareness of the general public, but also inject a strong impetus into the development of competitive sports, youth sports, sports industry, and sports culture.

Besides, Hunan will also take into account the arrangements of competition programs in its 13 cities and one prefecture, more comprehensively improving facilities for both competitive and national fitness service. Hunan will seize the opportunity of hosting the National Games to advance its development under the strategy for the rise of central China, looking forward to a brighter and promising future.
