The 13th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo (CMGE) kicked off in Chenzhou on May 16, 2025. More than 600 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions attended, presenting over 10,000 rare mineral specimens such as lunar meteorites, hsianghualite in Hunan Province, wulfenite from the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang, fossilized shark's teeth from the United Kingdom, and Pakistani aquamarine. Among them, the returned overseas Chinese minerals exhibition was held for the first time.
The 13th CMGE is organized by the Chenzhou Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. and supported by the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums and the China Fossil Preservation Foundation and. There are four thematic exhibition areas for mineral crystals, colored gemstones, fossil meteorites, and arts and crafts. During the five-day exhibition, thematic activities and exhibitions will also be held, including the 2025 Chenzhou Bismuth Tellurium Industry Development Forum, a seminar on the integration and innovative development of museums, and a meteorite-themed exhibition.
CMGE is the only national professional mineral and gemstone exhibition approved by the State Council in China. As the most concentrated and typical mineral resources agglomeration area in Hunan, Chenzhou has taken the lead worldwide in retained reserves of tungsten, bismuth, tin, and fluorite. In the past ten years, Chenzhou's non-ferrous metal sector has developed a relatively complete industrial chain. Riding the wave of lithium new energy industrial development, Chenzhou has made efforts to build a lithium-based new energy industrial chain of "lithium mine - materials - battery - terminal - recycling".
