The Changsha Customs Authority announced on May 12 that Hunan Province's total import and export value reached 167.3 billion CNY in the first four months of 2025. Of the total, exports stood at 102.8 billion CNY, while imports amounted to 64.5 billion CNY.
In the first four months, production-oriented enterprises contributed nearly 50% of Hunan's foreign trade with transactions totaling 83.07 billion CNY. During the period, foreign-invested enterprises recorded 17.78 billion CNY in foreign trade, accounting for 10.6% of the total. Imports and exports by state-owned enterprises hit 21.34 billion CNY. From a regional perspective, Changsha's import and export value amounted to 86.61 billion CNY from January to April, taking up half of the province's foreign trade value.
Exports to ASEAN and the Middle East grew rapidly. In the January-April period, Hunan's trade with ASEAN and Middle Eastern countries amounted to 31.11 billion yuan and 12.48 billion CNY, up 1.8% and 24.3%, respectively. In particular, the growth rates of the province's exports to the above countries are 7.4% and 18.4%, respectively. During the period, Hunan's trade with Africa and the EU was 16.66 billion CNY and 14.13 billion CNY, respectively.
