The 4th Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE) opened at the Changsha International Conference Center on May 15, 2025. Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, addressed the ceremony and announced its opening. Before the opening ceremony, representative attendees toured the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center for inspection.
Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the exhibitors from all walks of life. He noted that Hunan Province, as the largest construction machinery production base in China, has attracted nearly 1,000 enterprises in the sector to settle down. Hunan has five top 50 global construction machinery companies, and has participated in the formulation and revision of more than 300 international and national standards in recent years.
President Xi Jinping inspected Hunan last March, speaking highly of the achievements that Hunan has made in construction machinery and other advanced manufacturing industries. He urged Hunan to build itself into a national hub for important and advanced manufacturing industries and a sci-tech and innovation center with core competitiveness, and continue to be a pacesetter for reform and opening-up of China's inland regions.
Hunan will bear in mind the ardent entrustment of President Xi Jinping, boosting industrial innovation via technological innovation. It will strive to move the manufacturing sector towards higher-end, smarter, and greener production, foster construction machinery remanufacturing and other new industries and models, and advance the coordination of industrial and supply chains. The province will further deepen communication and cooperation with all aspects, cultivate new driving forces, and promote new development.
Martin Mpana, Cameroonian ambassador to China, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He remarked that Hunan Province, as an important node of the Belt and Road Initiative, boasts unique advantages in construction machinery and other advanced manufacturing industries, sharing broad prospects for cooperation with Cameroon. He expected to deepen collaboration with Hunan in equipment research and development, construction, and technical services, and invited Hunan enterprises to invest and develop in Cameroon, assisting Cameroon in stepping up modernization.
Xu Niansha, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Tsunetaka Mori, Hitachi Construction Machinery's representative in China; Wu Hanming, deputy general manager of the China Aneng Construction Group Co. Ltd.; and, Zhou Kaiquan, deputy general manager of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation, respectively made speeches.
Zhai Jun, special envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue; Tang Congyuan, chief engineer of the Ministry of Emergency Management; provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Qin Guowen, and Wang Yi'ou; Gu Gang, vice governor of Hainan Province; Chen Hesheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Jiang Tao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; diplomatic envoys of more than 60 countries including Kenya, the Gambia, Côte d'Ivoire, and Namibia; representatives of the United Nations agencies, and representatives of the African Union in China, were present.
This year's exhibition is themed "High-end, Intelligent, and Green," bringing together over 1,800 global exhibitors to showcase cutting-edge machinery and technologies that are shaping the industry's future. Exhibits cover equipment used in the fields of construction, emergency rescue, mining, agriculture, and transportation.
