2025 World Tourism Alliance - Dongting Dialogue Slated for May 25

The 2025 World Tourism Alliance - Dongting Dialogue will take place in Yueyang on May 25, bringing together over 200 global leaders from government, business, academia, and research sectors to jointly chart a new blueprint for integrated cultural and tourism development.


With the theme of "Promoting High-Quality Development in Cultural Tourism with Cultural Strengths and Ecological Advances," the event centers on the ecological and cultural resources of the Dongting Lake. The Dialogue will delve into integrated approaches featuring "culture + ecology + tourism," showcasing Yueyang's profound cultural heritage and rich ecological resources. The initiative aims to establish the Dongting Lake as a "global benchmark for eco-cultural tourism" while contributing China's wisdom to forging a global synergy in cultural tourism and ecology. 


The event features three main sessions: keynote speeches, high-level dialogues, and signing/launch ceremonies. Distinguished domestic and international experts will explore innovative approaches to integrate ecology with cultural tourism, unlocking ecological value enhancement from multidimensional perspectives.

At the inaugural ceremony of the "China Ecological Literature Base," an anthology entitled The Magnificent River and Lake: Literary Masters' Works on Yueyang will be released, showcasing Dongting Lake's ecological stories to the world.

Moreover, the Declaration on the Dongting Dialogue will make its global debut. Quality routes highighting Yueyang's Dongting Lake and Yangtze River Golden Tourism Belt will be launched. Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) linked to China's renowned towers and lakes will be signed on site.

The event is hosted by the World Tourism Alliance, and co-organized by the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee, the Yueyang Municipal People's Government, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, and the Hunan Tourism Association.
