Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, inspected transportation infrastructure construction for the 15th Five-Year Plan and then hosted a symposium on March 24 and 25, 2025. He asked to study and implement President Xi Jinping's important exposition of boosting China's strength in transportation and his important speeches and instructions on the work of Hunan Province. Hunan should give full play to its advantageous geographical location as a transition belt between the eastern coastal regions and the central and western regions, and a combination zone between the Yangtze River opening up economic belt and the coastal opening up economic belt, to accelerate the building of a comprehensive three-dimensional transportation system, supporting the provincial high-quality economic and social development.

Secretary Shen listened to the report on the Yangtze River Economic Belt comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network and Hunan provincial transportation network for the 15th Five-Year Plan. He visited the Yueyang Chenglingji Port, Chenglingji New Port Multimodal Logistics Park, and Pingtian Station of the Haolebaoji-Ji'an Railway, to learn about the Yangtze River water transport port construction, new port-old port coordinated development, and rail-water intermodal transport. He called for optimizing the industrial layout of the port, vigorously developing multimodal transport, reducing the cost of enterprise logistics, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation in the long run. Secretary Shen also inspected the Yueyang Sanhe Airport to learn about its operation. Efforts should be made to vigorously develop air logistics, with the goal of establishing the airport as an air cargo hub aligned with its strategic positioning, he added.
