The Hunan delegation attending the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) held its second plenary meeting in Beijing on March 5, 2025, to deliberate the government work report.

Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau and minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee; He Wei, vice chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee and chairperson of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party; and, Zhang Qingwei, vice chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee, participated in the deliberation.

According to the arrangements of the national annual "Two Sessions", Lei Haichao, minister and secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of the National Health Commission, joined the meeting to attentively listen to diverse perspectives.

Shen Xiaoming, head of the Hunan delegation, presided over the meeting. Mao Weiming, Wang Shuangquan, and Wu Lan, deputy heads of the delegation, attended. Deputies present at the meeting also included Du Jiahao, Hu Xusheng, Yang Weigang, Jiang Difei, Zhou Haibing, Zhu Yu, Ye Xiaoying, and Li Jiancheng.

Relevant comrades from departments of the NPC Standing Committee, the General Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Finance, were present.

During the deliberation, Zhao Chunmei, Li Xiaosong, Chong Yanmin, Jiang Fan, Zhang Di, Shan Xiaoming, Gong Zhengwen, Hu Chunlian, Zhang Xuewu, Hu Guozhu and other deputies put forward opinions and suggestions on developing new productive forces, giving strategic priority to ensuring the people's health, improving the effective mechanism for the integration of culture with science and technology, promoting the reform of the integration of medical treatment, medical insurance, and medicines supply, advancing the growth of private enterprises, driving the building of a law-based government, and supporting the reconstruction of disaster-stricken areas.
