Changsha Jixing Terminal's Container Throughput up 26.74% in January

Two cargo ships loaded with 260 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of fireworks containers departed from the Changsha Jixing Terminal recently. They would navigate along the Xiangjiang River to Shanghai, and then continue on to Europe and the United States.

At the beginning of the Chinese New Year, the Changsha Jixing Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (referred to as Changsha Jixing) got off to a good start. The terminal's container throughput rose 26.74% year on year to 14,240 TEUs in January. In particular, 1,704 TEUs of fireworks products were exported, surging 105.55% year on year, and the export volume of mechanical parts reached 1,077 TEUs, up 21.42%.

Changsha Jixing is mainly engaged in container handling, storage, cargo transfer, warehousing, and other businesses. The Changsha Jixing Operation Area is a national Class-II open port and the only water transport port in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan area of Hunan. Containerized goods shipped from Changsha can reach more than 50 countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States.

In 2024, Changsha Jixing handled a container throughput of 234,100 TEUs. Among them, the throughput of local containers grew 69.72% year on year to 188,600 TEUs. Local container volume, revenue, and profits all hit new highs on a year-on-year basis, and the quality of operation reached the best level in history.
