Governor Mao Inspects Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, inspected Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on February 11, 2025. Governor Mao asked to thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Hunan's work, committed to the path of prioritizing ecological conservation and pursuing green development. He called for boosting characteristic industries, strengthening support for development, highlighting people's livelihood that address weak links in the economy, and keeping an eye on security to prevent risks, to achieve "a good start" and "a fruitful end" in the new year.

Governor Mao noted that efforts should be made to:

- Seize the policy opportunities and comprehend the national major strategic arrangement and macro-policy guidance;

- Give priority to the development of agriculture and rural areas, aiming at modern and protected agriculture;

- Expand and strengthen the characteristic and advantageous industries, attracting investment from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta, and other key regions; and,

- Lay a green foundation for development, upholding and acting on the idea that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.
