On January 2, a train fully loaded with furniture departed from the Chenzhou Land Port and headed for the Felixstowe Port in the United Kingdom through the Shenzhen Yantian Port. This was the first train of the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport service launched at the Chenzhou Land Port in the year of 2025, marking a good start of the port.
In 2024, the Chenzhou Land Port operated more than 100 freight trains through the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport service, up over 28% year on year. The port saw a steady rise in the number of trains operated, becoming an increasingly important opening-up channel of the city.
As a national logistics hub for production-oriented services, the Chenzhou Land Port continues to build a comprehensive network of international transport routes. Last year, it opened five sea-rail intermodal transport routes linking Chenzhou with Apapa Port and Onne Port in Nigeria, Mombasa Port in Kenya, Dar es Salaam Port in Tanzania, and Yangon in Myanmar, via Nansha Port. The Chenzhou Land Port has become a logistics channel connecting land and sea and reaching out to the world, a strong backbone to promote communication and cooperation with the international "circle of friends."
In 2025, the Chenzhou Land Port will accelerate the construction of an internationalized and high-capacity land port logistics system; continue to advance the high-efficiency, high-quality, and high-level operation of the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea intermodal transport service; enhance the business types and service capacity of international multimodal transport; support the growth and expansion of port-related industries; effectively reduce the cost of logistics; and, provide a more convenient and efficient trade and logistics corridor to contribute to the high-quality economic development and high-level opening up.
