The Online Conference on China-Malaysia "Belt and Road" Education Resource Sharing and Friendship School Exchange was held on December 18. Malaysia’s SJK(C) Choong Wen and Hunan’s Education Group of the Primary School Affiliated with the Normal College of Jishou University signed an agreement to establish friendship school ties. The two sides will cooperate in fields such as cultural exchanges, educational resources, specialized courses, and mutual visits between teachers and students, so as to cultivate talents in the new era with international vision and cross-cultural communication skills.
The Elementary School Affiliated to the Normal College of Jishou University was established in 1940. The Education Group of the Primary School Affiliated to Jishou University was founded in 2020, implementing group-based schooling. The education group has been honored as a National Basic Education Demonstration School and is included in the first batch of primary and secondary school science education experimental schools in China.
Malaysia has a complete Chinese education system, with more than 1,000 Chinese primary schools. Founded in 1938, SJK(C) Choong Wen emphasizes an international perspective and multicultural background, and focuses on stimulating students' potential.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. Malaysia is one of the first countries to respond to and support the Belt and Road Initiative. Hunan Province has been deepening its educational cooperation with Malaysia to build a "Knowledge Silk Road". In 2011, Hunan Women's University established friendship school ties with Malaysia’s Sultan Idris Education University. In 2013, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and Lincoln University College in Malaysia began to cooperate in overseas education projects. In 2023, Hunan Automotive Engineering Vocational University's first overseas college and talent training base was established in Malaysia.
