Recently, the 2024 China Nighttime Economy Research Finding Release hosted by the China Tourism Academy was held in Shenzhen. The event announced the lists of preferred urban areas for night economy and preferred nighttime tourism projects in 2024. Furong District in Changsha City and Fenghuang Ancient Town in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture were included in the two lists respectively.

Furong District was selected as a preferred urban area for night economy. As a traditional consumption center in Hunan Province, Furong District aims to build Changsha into a "24-hour city" and make itself the city's visitor traffic hub during nighttime. The district boasts a number of large-scale business districts such as Wuyi Business District, Yuanjialing Business District, Wanjiali Business District, and Railway Station Business District. The place is also home to many characteristic bustling blocks with cultural allure, consumption potential, and high-quality living conditions, such as Yangfan Night Market, Qinyuan Food Street, and Hunan Rice Noodles Street. Yangfan Night Market is known as the "No. 1 Night Market in Hunan".

Fenghuang Ancient Town was included in the 2024 list of preferred nighttime tourism projects. Ribbons of light shine in the night in Fenghuang Ancient Town. An immersive cruise night tour experience project titled "Xiangjian Tuojiang" is staged in the Tuojiang River, bringing a light and art feast to the audience. "Xiangjian Tuojiang" is China's first night tour project that highlights the culture of Miao ethnic group.
