Customs data showed that Hunan exported 2.24 billion CNY of dried and fresh fruits and nuts from January to October this year, an increase of 107.1% over the same period last year. The total export volume grew 90.5% to 169,000 tonnes. Among them, citrus exports reached 24,700 tonnes, worth 250 million CNY, surging 76% and 93% respectively. Fresh grape exports totaled 9,100 tonnes, valued at 120 million CNY, jumping 28.3% and 59.6% respectively.

Recently, workers of an agricultural products company in Shimen County, Changde have been busy loading baskets of citrus into cold-chain trucks for oversea shipment. The person in charge of the company introduced that it has exported more than 36 million CNY of citrus so far this year, an increase of about 40% over last year. Shimen County is an important production area for early-maturing mandarin oranges in China. The fruits have been exported to more than 20 countries and regions in North America, East Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia.

The "Sunshine Rose", a fresh grape from Lixian County, which was exported for the first time last year, sells well and becomes a "rookie" in Hunan's fruit export sector this year. Recently, a batch of fresh grapes valued at more than 4 million CNY will be exported to Southeast Asia via cold-chain logistics. Since the beginning of this year, the Changde Customs Authority has promoted 20 local orchards and 20 processing plants to obtain export qualifications.
