2024-10-13 Download Print

More than 300 migratory black bazas flied over Yuelu Mountain, Changsha, on October 10. The black baza (aviceda leuphotes) is a small, strikingly patterned bird of prey in the Accipitridae family. It has been listed among the wild animals under second-class national protection in China. It breeds or stopovers in Hunan in summer, and migrates to Southeast Asia or South Asia for overwintering.
