Intangible Cultural Heritage Workstation Set up in Tongdao

On September 24, the workstation for the protection and research and development of intangible cultural heritages in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County has taken shape. The workstation is jointly founded by the county authority and the Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College, covering an area of about 15 mu (1 ha.) and a building area of about 4,000 square meters. It consists of the Dong brocade master studio, teachers studio, inheritance R & D area, exhibition and marketing area, and other main buildings and supporting residential facilities. In recent years, the county authority, based on rich Dong folk culture characteristics, has innovated methods for intangible cultural heritage inheritance, vigorously promoting in-depth integration and development of intangible cultural heritage and cultural tourism.
