Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests. He noted that last November, the heads of state of China and the U.S. met in San Francisco and drew up a future-oriented "San Francisco Vision" for China-U.S. relations. Hunan has been thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan. The province has taken the "Three Hubs" construction as the driving force to push forward the high-quality development in a solid manner. He believed that Hunan and the U.S. have profound cooperation potential, hoping to work with U.S. counterparts to further strengthen economic and trade collaboration, as well as people-to-people exchanges, so as to better achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

The ambassador thanked Hunan for its warm reception. He remarked that since the meeting between the U.S. and Chinese heads of state in San Francisco, both sides have actively worked to implement the important consensus reached during that meeting. The communication and cooperation have shown positive progress. He expected that this visit would help more American enterprises to understand and invest in Hunan, leading to more pragmatic outcomes in exchanges and collaboration between the two sides.
