Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, inspected construction and operation of the Yuelu Mountain Laboratory in Changsha on August 28. He stressed the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, carry forward the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan, and act on the central government's Action Plan on Revitalizing the Seed Industry. To meet national needs and leverage Hunan's strengths, efforts should focus on promoting basic, cutting-edge, and public-welfare innovations in the seed industry. This will accelerate the cultivation of a national strategic scientific workforce with distinct Hunan characteristics.
