At 2 p.m. on August 22, a batch of naturally ripened durian from Thailand successfully passed through the customs clearance process via an online shopping bonded import model (customs supervision code 1210) at the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area Airport Block (Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone), thanks to the joint efforts of the airport block and the Changsha Huanghua International Airport Customs Authority. The fruits were imported by the Changsha ZTO Air Cargo Transport Co., Ltd. This was the company's first bonded business, and also the first time that the airport block and Hunan Province imported fresh durian via the 1210 business model.
The online shopping bonded import model is one of the retail import models for cross-border e-commerce. Under the business model, e-commerce enterprises declare their imported goods in batches and store them in special or bonded customs-supervised areas. After consumers place orders on e-commerce platforms, the goods that have completed the relevant procedures are directly shipped to domestic consumers from the bonded warehouse.
"Through this model, consumers can enjoy tariff-free overseas goods with a 30% discount on VAT, and the purchase link can also be directly accessed on the customs platform to ensure authentic and traceable goods," said a spokesperson for the Changsha ZTO Air Cargo Transport Co., Ltd.
