The Changsha Customs Authority released on August 20 that, in the first seven months of this year, Hunan's export value of the three major tech-intensive green products, or the "new three"—new energy vehicles (NEVs), lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products—reached 6.17 billion CNY, increasing by 47.6% year on year. The export value of NEVs was 3.99 billion CNY, up 129.1%.
General trade was the main export mode. In the first seven months, Hunan has exported "new three" products valued at 6.06 billion CNY via general trade, increasing by 54.3% and accounting for 98.2% of the province's total "new three" exports. Besides, 110 million CNY of "new three" products were exported via processing trade, and 1.27 million CNY products exported based on bonded logistics.
Private businesses were the main contributors while foreign-funded enterprises saw rapid growth in export. In the first seven months, Hunan's private businesses have exported "new three" products valued at 5.75 billion CNY, growing by 71%. The state-owned enterprises exported 410 million CNY of "new three" products. The foreign-funded enterprises exported 13.57 million CNY of "new three" products, up 78.1%.
Brazil, Mexico, and the U.S.A were the major importers, importing more than half of Hunan's "new three" exports. During the first seven months, the export value of Hunan's "new three" products to Brazil reached 1.77 billion CNY, that to Mexico hit 870 million CNY, and to the U.S.A 580 million CNY.
